Masterpiece Wilbur Glahn Engraved Officer’s Model Target

Outstanding condition “C” level engraved Wilbur Glahn Officer’s Model Target. This revolver features Glahn’s signature scroll & vinework, covering approximately three-quarters of the revolvers surface. Flowing scroll and floral coverage covers nearly the entire frame, full coverage on the cylinder flats, half coverage on the barrel, leaf designs on the bottom of frame, triggerguard, and butt, and Glahn’s trademark “V” patterns appear on the left side of the frame and the front strap. Full coverage on the top strap, and a sunburst pattern behind the rear sight.

Revolver retains nearly all of its original blue finish, with nearly no finish loss. Several small areas of the finish have turned slight brown or plum color. Mechanically sound. All factory markings are clear & sharp including barrel address, model name on barrel, Rampant Colt on frame, and Colt’s verified proof on triggerguard. Clean bore with distinct rifling.

Revolver is currently wearing a well fitting, excellent set of genuine ivory grips of unknown manufacture, with attractive aging and no damage. According to factory letter, the original stocks were pearl.

Overall, this revolver is an extremely fine example of Glahn’s artistry, with significant coverage throughout, and retaining nearly all of its original finish. This well preserved example is deserving of the finest engraved Colt collections.
