Excellent condition Colt Army Special, factory engraved with what appear to be Colt factory pearl stocks. This revolver retains nearly all of its original high polish blue finish, with nitre blue trigger and hammer. Finish loss is noted on the cylinder, which has also turned a plum color. Revolver is mechanically sound.

Colt records do not contain a shipping ledger entry for this revolver, however, production records indicate that at the time of production, this revolver was engraved. No other configuration information was found in Colt’s records. Colt factory letter indicating same is included with this revolver.

Less than 500 Colt Army Specials were engraved, and of these the pattern presented on this piece appears with some frequency, with approximately 1/3 coverage, with Helfricht stylings and floral designs covering the frame & barrel. While undocumented, the well-fitting & factory style pearl stocks appear to be factory original. This high condition piece is a worthy addition to any collection of pre-war Colt factory engraved revolvers.
