*SALE PENDING* US Issued Post-WWII Detective Special 559549

Seldom encountered post-WWII US Issued Detective Special. This revolver, part of a 1,600 gun shipment to Springfield Armory on July 28, 1950, retains a very high percentage of Colt’s original dual tone blue finish, featuring polished flats and matte rounds, and shows very little signs of use or carry, with some discoloration on the butt and backstrap. Revolver has ordnance bomb marked on the upper left side of the frame, along with an “A” on the underside of the barrel, of unknown meaning. Stocks are numbered on the reverse in pencil to the revolver.

While many WWII era Detective Specials issued to the US Government are encountered and quite desirable, a relative few of the post-war variations surface. This revolver makes an excellent & unique addition to any collection of Government issued Colt pistols & revolvers.
